10 years ago if someone had told me that a Gin Rin Karashigoi would be among the most in-demand varieties in the world of Nishikigoi I wouldn't have believed you but the Yellow Monkey line from Dainichi has been a game changer. I think for many, the variety can be a bit underwhelming in small sizes but it is their ability to grow to genuine jumbo proportions so regularly that make them such a 'must' variety for many Koi ponds around the world. Their size is just one attribute though, the tone of colour, aggressive body style and fabulous Gin Rin properties make it arguably the most complete Gin Rin Karashigoi ever produced. The philosophy of this lineage is to create huge bodied Karashigoi that achieve sizes in excess of 80cm with relative ease. With this in mind the Tosai make for very attractive propositions.
