Kin Showa

Pretty cool fish this one. This is Kin showa from Tanaka. interesting sort of nerdy fact about Kin showa. Similar to Kin Ki Utsuri. Sumi is the only colour that is directly connected to the central nervous system. So often with this particular variety when it gets bowled or if it goes to a koi show, the stress that's induced on the fish, the sumi (black) will die down. So often they can look a little bit underwhelming. You do get examples every now and again that just maintain the sumi and this is such an example whereby the sumi stays strong. If we move away from sort of thenerdiness, that I sometimes get a bit carried away with, we've got an unbelievable sumi pattern on this fish. That menware (head pattern) is just outrageous. Nice motoguru in the fins and sumi we want to see thickening throughout the fish. Very nice metallic lustre. This is a variety Tanaka is known for. Essentially it's a metallic Showa (Hikari). We want to see showa characteristics um but with a metallic colour, so the pattern criteria are the same for normal Wagoi Showa as they are with Kin Showa. You tend to get this orange type of beni as opposed to the the deep red that we see with traditional showa. Moving forward, it's going to be a very attractive patterned fish with good metallic shine. It's justnot a variety you see too many with this sort of pattern style.
