Kohaku

Beautiful Kohaku from Maruyama. This is the famous Maruyama. Maruyama is a southern breeder very well known for his Kohaku production. So much so that back in the day, his father was the go-to guy for getting parent stock from to introduce this thick Kagura (Turtle shell Red) thick beni type that he produces. This pattern type is called Ippon Beni, which is just one singular Beni plate. The Koi holds itself well in the water. It's kind of a big fish pattern style. Very clean, very simple fish yet very effective when the fish gets gets bigger and gets body mass on it. You'll start to see more of this sort of lateral pattern coming up as the body starts to get bigger. Easy fish to read in many ways. Beautiful fish moving forward and if you've got the ability to stick some weight on this fish, even better. If not, fish can overwinter with us here for no extra charge.
