Such a clean, contrasting example that this farm excels in. Make no mistake the Ogata Shiro line is right up there with the very best in the business. Beautiful Shiroji is complimented by deep, inky sumi. This style of Koi is very much a strong example moving forwardd for the show scene. More body mass and size will open up the windows of Shiroji and this will addd a lot more harmony moving forward. In the future we need to see the transition from the head to the body improve but this is not unusual in young Shiro Utsuri; keep in mind this Koi is just 8/9 months of age. Another variety that this farm is world renowned for, the Ogata Shiro Utsuri line has strong genetic connections to Omosako and the Sumi comes up very early so they make for excellent show Koi in their younger years as they are extremely clean, display a high degree of contrast and have a very finished appearance. Some Shiro lines are very much slow burners but the Ogata line is very easy to read and with their genetic characteristics they certainly grow rapidly also.
